School Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Full-Time | Omaha, Nebraska

  • Pay: Up to $40 per hour, based on experience, education, and licensure

  • Schedule: Full-time

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School Registered Nurse (RN) to support students across a school district in the Omaha community. This dynamic, full-time role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values flexibility, and is passionate about promoting student health, safety, and well-being.

Position Overview

The School RN oversees the application of the nursing process and delivers high-quality student care within the school setting. This role supports the physical, mental, and emotional health of students while ensuring compliance with physician orders, professional standards, and organizational policies. As a floating nurse, you will serve multiple school sites and act as a vital liaison between families, school staff, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students in accordance with physician orders and care plans

  • Respond to medical emergencies and ensure student safety

  • Manage chronic health conditions and administer medications as required

  • Promote student wellness through health education and preventive care

  • Collaborate with families, school staff, administrators, and healthcare providers

  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all professional and regulatory standards

  • Deliver services in alignment with Amergis’ philosophy, policies, and standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • School Nurse Certification, as required by state or contract

  • One (1) year of school nursing, public health, or pediatric experience preferred

  • Current CPR certification, if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable

  • Current health certificate, per state regulation or contract

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Additional Details

  • This is a district-wide floating position

  • Candidates must be willing and able to travel throughout the Omaha community
