Maintenance Technician

Job Description
A well-established manufacturing company in Omaha, NE is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production operations through preventive maintenance, equipment repair, and troubleshooting. This role is critical in minimizing downtime, maintaining product quality, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production and assembly equipment.
The ideal candidate brings strong electrical and mechanical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance on production lines and manufacturing equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
Support production line setup, changeovers, and equipment startup with minimal supervision
Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive solutions
Monitor machine performance, adjustments, speeds, and moving components during production runs
Adhere to all safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out (LOTO) requirements
Communicate equipment issues, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities to supervision
Maintain maintenance tools, records, and documentation accurately
Keep maintenance shop and equipment cabinets clean and organized
Perform all work onsite and assist with additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong troubleshooting and maintenance technician skillset
Electrical and mechanical repair experience
Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
Preventive maintenance and repair proficiency
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic schematics
Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude
Ability to read electrical prints and schematics and troubleshoot circuits up to 460V
Experience using electrical diagnostic and testing equipment
Knowledge of motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo drives
Familiarity with automation controls, PLCs, and basic programming
Understanding of electrical systems, hydraulic operations, and pneumatic components
Intermediate computer skills
Ability to inspect work and make quality control decisions
Experience using precision measurement tools and metric systems

Work Environment & Shifts
This position operates in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to temperature extremes, dust, noise, moisture, and chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, beard nets, and protective eyewear is required.
Available Shifts:
1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM ( $0.50/hour shift differential )
Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM ( $3.00/hour shift differential )

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
