Job Title: Electromechanical Technician
Job Description
The Electromechanical Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical and mechanical systems that support paper converting and manufacturing equipment. This position handles work ranging from above-average to complex difficulty and collaborates closely with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency while supporting overall operational objectives.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical production equipment throughout the plant.
Perform breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance on production equipment, utilities, and facility systems.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in a production environment, including using PLCs for routine diagnostics.
Disassemble defective equipment, replace worn or damaged components, and reassemble equipment to proper operating condition.
Replace fuses, switches, light sockets, and bulbs as needed to maintain safe and reliable operation.
Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, prints, and schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
Complete work orders, parts requisitions, time entries, and maintenance documentation in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Follow established preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.
Work both independently and collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to support equipment uptime and process improvements.
Demonstrate safe manufacturing and maintenance practices at all times and adhere to plant safety procedures.
Perform additional manufacturing or maintenance duties as assigned to support overall plant operations.
Follow all plant rules, hygiene practices, allergen procedures, and food safety policies in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
Report potentially unsafe conditions or noncompliance related to food safety and participate in SQF root cause and corrective action initiatives as required.
Report any potential food safety issues or customer complaints to leadership immediately.
Essential Skills
Experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance (preferred).
Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience in a production environment.
Ability to troubleshoot PLCs for routine maintenance issues.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical prints, blueprints, and schematics.
Basic working knowledge of machine tools such as drill presses, welders, and grinders.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to use and maintain personal tools required for mechanical and electrical repairs.
Ability to work overtime as needed to support production demands.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and perform repetitive and awkward movements.
Ability to routinely lift up to 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to push or pull a pallet jack with up to 45 lbs of force.
Regular use of hand tools and electrical tools in maintenance tasks.
Ability to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures.
High School Diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with paper converting or similar manufacturing processes is beneficial.
Comfort working with a variety of industrial equipment and utilities.
Strong attention to detail when documenting work in a CMMS and completing work orders.
Solid communication skills to collaborate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
Commitment to following food safety, hygiene, and allergen procedures in a production environment.
Willingness to participate in SQF root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility that supports paper converting operations and uses modern production and maintenance equipment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime required based on business needs. The work involves frequent use of hand and electrical tools, as well as interaction with industrial machinery, utilities, and facility systems. The environment can include fluctuating temperatures and requires adherence to plant rules, hygiene practices, allergen procedures, and food safety policies in line with Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards. Work is both independent and team-based, with regular coordination with Production and Maintenance personnel and routine use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
