Job Title: Cable Products Assembler – Soldering and Assembly

Job Description

This full-time temporary role focuses on soldering rings and assembling cable and cord reel products in a production environment while an automated robot cell is being transitioned from welding to soldering. The position involves repetitive, hands-on work using hand and power tools, reading blueprints and tape measures, and supporting mechanical and electrical assembly tasks on either first or second shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform soldering of rings on cable and cord reel products according to established procedures and quality standards.

  • Assemble cable products and cord reels using hand tools and power tools in a manufacturing environment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and basic electrical wiring diagrams to complete assembly tasks accurately.

  • Use a tape measure and other measuring tools to ensure components meet required dimensions and specifications.

  • Follow mechanical and electrical assembly instructions to build products consistently and efficiently.

  • Operate in place of an automated robot cell that is currently offline, maintaining production output during the transition from welding to soldering.

  • Inspect work for quality, identifying defects and making adjustments to maintain product standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following shop safety rules and procedures at all times.

  • Work effectively on first or second shift as assigned, meeting daily production goals and timelines.

  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to address production issues and support continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

  • Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Soldering experience, particularly with small components or rings.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic schematics.

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.

  • Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, and similar tools.

  • Experience using power tools safely in a shop or production setting.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical assembly processes.

  • Basic understanding of electrical assembly and wiring.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a machine shop or similar industrial environment.

  • Comfort working around mechanical and electrical equipment.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle repetitive motions.

  • Willingness to work either first or second shift based on business needs.

  • Interest in a temporary role with the potential to transition to permanent employment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a machine shop-style production facility focused on building cable and cord reels. You will work around operating machinery in an environment with significant noise and exposure to fumes, following all safety guidelines and using appropriate protective equipment. The work is hands-on and repetitive, involving the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices at a production workstation. Second shift typically runs Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., providing a three-day weekend, while first shift is also available. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with a focus on maintaining consistent output and product quality.

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
