POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
The Quality Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding UW Medicine’s financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational consistency
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Enterprise Wide Revenue Cycle Operations supports all of UW Medicine Patient Access, Hospital Billing, Finance and other related operations that use Epic software and AccuReg.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality audit development, change management compliance, and end-user adoption requiring expert knowledge of ERCs workflows
Analyst performs analysis of audit results and system issues, documents potential root cause analysis, recommends mitigation and training enhancements, documents findings and potential specifications for corrective action, and works with operational personnel to ensure end-user adoption and compliance
Analyze business processes and procedures with a focus on workflow enhancement opportunities to ensure the system tools are maximized for business use
Identify opportunities for training enhancements based on quality trends
Design, maintain, and execute standardized audit protocols for various ERC workflows
Identify root causes or errors, trends, systemic risks, and recurring quality issues impacting performance and compliance and propose workflow/process changes to improve outcomes
Provide supportive and positive mechanisms for reporting issues, and facilitate reporting of suggestions for system improvements
Perform regression-style validation following system, workflow, or policy changes
Serve as a liaison between BSIQT and ERC operational teams to support quality review, post-implementation validation, and assessment of workflow changes
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least four (4) years in ERC positions as a lead or other similar position where analysis and problem solving skills have been demonstrated
Working knowledge of Epic Grand Central, Prelude, Referrals, Cadence, Epic customer tools, hospital and physician billing systems, and other hardware and software systems related to Revenue Cycle.
Demonstrated experience conducting operational audits, quality reviews, or compliance assessments.
Proven ability to perform root cause analysis, document findings, and develop actionable recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present quality findings to leadership.
Proficiency in Epic modules (Cadence, Prelude, Grand Central, Auth-Cert, Medical Records, Coding, Customer Service tools, and billing for both physician and hospital) and revenue cycle reporting tools.
Epic certification in one or more revenue cycle or patient access modules.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements
