Essential Functions Statement(s) *Serves as a technical expert and provides technical support to Engineering, Production and Quality for all matters related to electrical and electromechanical components with a focus on motors and motor controllers. *Manages various vendor relationships, research projects, and new product development. *Examines and verifies technical drawings and specifications of electrical systems to ensure operations conform to standards and customer requirements. *Partners with and leads key development suppliers to develop new motor technologies and design electromechanical components and control systems. *Researches new techniques and technologies in electromechanical blending systems to improve performance. *Completes schematic, BOM and PCB layout development for new and existing designs. *Performs detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing specifications in order to ensure consistency and manufacturability. *Supports the creation of motor and controller specifications that relate to the performance of the machine. *Ensures all relevant technical and agency requirements for motor and EMI filter system are met for new and existing products. *Coordinates and assists in the development and test plans and performs testing of electrical and electromechanical components (Control Boards, Motors and EMI filters). *Defines required testing, evaluates test results, identifies root cause of test failures, and implements improvement strategies. *Supports and/or performs change activity concerning electromechanical components on existing product lines. *Identifies and implements performance and/or quality improvement, cost savings opportunities related to motors, EMI filters, cord sets and wiring for any new project, utilizing end user needs, warranty feedback, material cost, etc. *Develops requirements for embedded systems control and firmware. *Ensures the stage-gate product development process (STEP) is utilized throughout a project"s life cycle for applicable deliverables. *Specifies precise new product functional requirements. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 10+ years related experience in Electrical and electromechanical product design and development. Education: *Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in Electrical Engineering required *Master"s Degree in Engineering a plus Technical Skills: *Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel *Proficient in Creo or similar 3D modeling software *Proficient in ECAD tools, Altium Designer *Possesses working knowledge of ERP systems such as Oracle and/or SAP. Other Requirements: *Fundamental knowledge of motors (Universal Motors, Induction Motors, Permanent Magnet Motors, BLDC). *Ability to design various electromechanical machine functions. *Knowledge and understanding of motor controllers. *Experience with and knowledge of sensor technologies and implementation. *Ability to present technical information in business-friendly and user-friendly language to non-technical audiences. *Possesses and displays excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey information in a clear, focused and concise manner *Demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all levels of employees in a team-oriented environment *Proven abili
