Together, the university's community of doers, makers, healers, and innovators empowers graduates to change the world, solve 21st-century challenges, and reinvent the future.For more information, visit nyit.edu.New York Tech's School of Architecture & Design seeks an Administrative Specialist in the Department of Architecture,located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.ResponsibilitiesADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT Administrative responsibilities for the School of Architecture and Design OW office and the Department of Architecture include but are not limited to the following: * Provide support for the associate dean and chair in the daily running of the Architecture department. * Act as liaison between students, faculty and administrative departments (registrar, admissions, enrollment, student solutions, graduation office, student solutions, advisement, etc.). * Process faculty compensation and stipends for architecture faculty - full time and adjuncts. * Assist with faculty hiring including coordinating interviews and onboarding of new faculty by processing of employment paperwork. * Develop and maintain efficient and confidential record-keeping and filing systems. * Purchasing and maintenance of office supplies, instructional supplies, equipment and computer software.ADVISEMENT * Run academic advisement reports for students. * Work closely with Senior Advisement Specialist, chair and and faculty with advisement and appointments.EVENTSAssist with administrative coordination of department and schoolevents including but not limited to orientation, student tours, open houses, thesis reviews, lecturess, exhibitions, workshops, commencement and accreditation site preparations. Order food, secure space, promote events, prepare welcome packets, process honorariums, etc. SCHOOL SUPPORT Assist the dean's office with special projects and tasks. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree required. 1-3 years' experience in an office setting and/or customer service * Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook and sharing platforms such as Google Suite and OneDrive, with the ability and willingness to learn other software. * Outstanding organizational, computer, communication, writing/editing skills. * Working knowledge of social media preferred. * Exceptional problem solver with good customer service orientation. Must be professional in demeanor and attire, tactful and able to handle multiple projects with varying complexity. * Detail oriented, proactive and follows through on all tasks to completion. * Able to work independently and as part of a team. * Possess a courteous positive and collegial attitude. * Bachelor's degree required. 1-3 years' experience in an office setting and/or customer service * Proficiency in MS Word/Excel/Outlook and sharing platforms such as Google Suite and OneD
