Josey's WineFarm Farm Hand in Old Chatham, New York
2 Part time Seasonal Jobs available at a Farm Winery in Columbia County.
Duties: Assist with planting and tending to grapevines, vineyard and other crops. Planting, pruning, weeding, trimming, spraying fungicides & pesticides, harvesting, post-harvest assistance, etc.
Other current crops include apples, nuts, christmas trees. Expansion plans for the near future involve growing other varieties of veggies, fruits, herbs, nuts in addition to honey and eggs.
Planting/mowing cover crops, mulching, building soil. Construction, repairs and maintenance of farming equipment, trellis system, farm buildings, pathways, etc. Staining fencing & barn, fence and trellis repairs, etc. Maintaining tractor and gator (e.g. oil changes, etc.) Chainsaw work (e.g. breaking down fallen trees, and other clearing around vineyard)
Tractor driving is a major plus (mowing, bush hogging, auger, etc.)
Perform additional duties as agreed upon.
Starting pay is negotiable depending on experience. A minimum of 4 hours per week are required for this position that may grow to over 20 hours per week.
Other Requirements: -Driver's License -Accepted related experience: farming, equipment maintenance and grounds maintenance. -High school diploma OR GED/equivalent are minimum educational requirements. -Reference check and Criminal background check will be conducted by employer.
