ITW Strategic Sourcing Manager in Olathe, Kansas

Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in advancing the division’s sourcing strategy by leading high‑impact sourcing initiatives and delivering measurable savings. This position develops and executes sourcing strategies that create business value through market intelligence, cost analysis, risk reduction, quality improvement, and supplier performance management. The role is responsible for monitoring key supplier markets, providing cost inputs for annual planning, and ensuring the business maintains an uninterrupted supply of materials and products.
Beyond driving value, the Strategic Sourcing Manager leads cross‑functional teams in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, manages strategic supplier relationships, and ensures alignment with operational, financial, and technical stakeholders. This position also oversees direct reports across the Olathe, KS; Easton, MD; and Tucker, GA facilities, fostering collaboration and consistent execution of sourcing and procurement processes.
Incumbent will be based at our Tucker, Georgia, or Olathe, Kansas locations and will report to the Division Operations Director.
Essential Duties:
Lead development and execution of category strategies aligned with stakeholders, delivering sourcing, cost‑savings, and financial objectives while tracking KPIs for performance and adoption.
Manage supplier relationships, including qualification, performance assessments, contract compliance, and risk‑mitigation activities; conduct supplier visits and drive continuous improvement.
Support negotiations for supplier agreements, renewals, and amendments to secure competitive commercial terms and long‑term value.
Collaborate with Corporate Sourcing, Operations, Finance, R&D, and NPD teams to plan sourcing needs, coordinate supplier innovation, and maintain effective inventory control processes.
Oversee spend data accuracy, reporting, and sourcing tracker management while representing the Division with ITW Strategic Sourcing and Platform/Segment leadership.
Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities and implement cost‑containment strategies.
Enhance procurement tools, processes, and inventory methodologies (including ITW MRD) to ensure efficient purchasing operations and optimal inventory levels
Education, Experience & Other Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry or related technical field required, MBA a plus.
8+ years of demonstrated expertise in sourcing or strategic purchasing with all elements of a structured strategic sourcing process.
Supply Chain /Supply Management certification(s) a plus.
Strong project management experience including proven success managing cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated leadership and influence through active participation and facilitation of sourcing projects, contract negotiations, category strategy development, supplier reviews, executive briefings and other relevant meetings.
Demonstrated capability establishing good relationships and contributing in a team environment.
Excellent business analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent critical thinking skills.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with experience in communicating and working effectively with all levels of company personnel.
Strong listening and analytical skills to interpret and translate information into sourcing needs.
Strong Financial acumen and professional presence.
Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office programs and Outlook, proficient with current technology.
NAV/ERP and desktop systems expertise.
Able to travel as required.
