Honeywell Advanced Systems Engineer – Next-Gen Avionics in Olathe, Kansas

You will report directly to our Engineering Site Leader and you will work ONSITE of our Olathe, KS location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, analyze, and implement avionics system solutions that meet performance, safety, and certification requirements.

• Collaborate closely with hardware, software, systems, and test engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.

• Author, maintain, and manage high‑level system requirements using IBM DOORS.

• Perform system‑level analysis, modeling, and trade studies to optimize performance and architecture.

• Execute systems integration, validation, and verification activities throughout the development lifecycle.

• Apply model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies.

• Capture, decompose, and manage system requirements in alignment with stakeholder needs.

• Ensure compliance with safety, certification, environmental, reliability, and performance standards. Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and project planning activities.

• Provide project coordination and support budget/schedule tracking in partnership with the Project Engineer.

• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform system design decisions.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

  • At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering and project leadership.

  • Experience in systems integration, System Testing, implementation, and troubleshooting.

  • Proficiency in simulation and analysis tools, with experience in avionics systems.

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to avionics technology.

WE VALUE

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • Experience with Aerospace regulatory standards DO-178 and DO-254.

  • Experience in leading complex avionics system integration projects.

  • Experience with model based systems engineering (MBSE) methods or tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody).

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning.

  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving capability.
