Robert Half Logistics Coordinator in Oilville, Virginia
Description We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to support the movement of products and help keep shipping operations running smoothly. This contract position with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience who understands how to balance speed, accuracy, and cost across day-to-day logistics activities. In this role, you will partner with warehouse and customer-facing teams to keep orders on track, solve transportation issues, and maintain reliable service from supplier to customer.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing freight to help ensure products are delivered accurately and within expected timelines.
• Prepare, review, and maintain shipping records such as bills of lading and other required transportation documents.
• Investigate delivery exceptions, damaged shipments, and routing errors, then work with carriers and internal teams to reach timely resolutions.
• Monitor logistics activity to ensure transportation practices follow applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate shipping workflows and recommend practical improvements that support stronger efficiency and lower overall transportation costs.
• Partner with warehouse and customer service teams to support order fulfillment and maintain steady communication throughout the shipping process.
• Track order movement from entry through warehouse release and final shipment to help prevent delays and processing gaps.
• Use logistics systems and reporting tools to review shipment data, identify trends, and support operational decision-making. Requirements
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse coordination, or a related supply chain role.
• Medium to advanced proficiency with MS Office is a must; experience in ERP systems like NetSuite preferred.
• Working knowledge of supply chain operations, shipping processes, and transportation documentation requirements.
• Experience using logistics or order management software to monitor shipments and maintain accurate records.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills for working with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers.
• High attention to detail and accuracy when handling order flow, shipment updates, and documentation.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, with a track record of addressing service issues and delivery challenges effectively.
• Previous experience in a high-volume operation or a role involving customer service, order entry, or inbound and outbound communication is a plus.
