PETERSEN INCORPORATED Quality Assurance Manager in OGDEN, Utah
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in alignment with NQA-1, ISO 9000, AS9100, and other applicable standards.
- Manage the quality engineering department to include being a partner to CFT leaders to ensure adequate quality engineering support to include workload balancing, training, and accountability to requirements and due dates as well as ensuring adequate staffing.
- Manage the documentation group to include full responsibility for ensuring document packages are completed accurately and on time.
- Management of the weld engineering team and responsibility to ensure proper training and staffing levels as well as overall responsibility for the management of PQRs and WPSs.
- Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and interpret specifications, codes, regulations, and contractual quality requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote quality awareness across departments.
Qualifications -- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required (High school diploma with a minimum of eight years of quality-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
- Minimum four years of quality engineering experience in a fabrication and machining environment (Eight years required if substituting education requirement).
- Demonstrated experience working with codes, standards, specifications, inspection processes, and NDE.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Working knowledge of NQA-1, ISO 9000, and AS9100 standards.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract and apply quality requirements from complex documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to develop procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.
- Effective leadership and presentation skills for training and audit facilitation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage professionally at all organizational levels.
