Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:

Provides orientation for all new or transferred employees to ensure their understanding of safety standards, working expectations, and procedures. Structures a learning environment conducive to the attainment of required operator skills.
Effectively manages assigned areas of responsibility. Remains well-informed on all KPIs and functions performed by direct reports. Serves as single source point of communication on requests for information from dual line supervisors.
Directs the application of appropriate process technology principles to planning and production.
Reviews and approves departmental short-term/long-term plans and production schedules (SOIP) with subordinates. Ensures that related strategies in plant efficiency/rail management, inventory control, and coordination of shipments support overall objectives.
Accountable for production/rail plan execution to achieve desired results and explanation of variances with action plans for improvement as appropriate.
Accountable for accurately tracking and managing production entries and inventory.
Controls and/or coordinates the allocation of departmental personnel, equipment, processes, and other resources to optimize production and/or rail strategy in a fiscally sound manner.
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and monitors operators’ activities to ensure:
Optimal SAFETY of plant personnel is attained.
Production schedules and quality standards are achieved.
Operating costs are contained through efficient use of personnel, machinery, materials and standard work instructions.
Questions, concerns, and requests are addressed in a timely manner.
Performance standards are met.
Routinely inspects plant equipment for operational integrity. Initiates work, or work orders, required to retain equipment in proper operating condition following the RAM process.
Completes all required documents, including, but not limited to, safety reports, production reports, time cards, and performance documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
Conducts meaningful performance reviews with subordinates. Ensures operators meet established safety/performance standards.
Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
Must have 3+ years’ experience leading a team in an industrial environment.
Must have verifiable experience demonstrative of effective team building and leadership abilities.
Prefer undergraduate degree and or specialized equipment certification.
