Overview

This position supports the Authorization Decisioning product within Mastercard’s Decision Management program. Decision Management enables faster, smarter decisioning at global scale by structuring and applying complex business logic across the payment journey and beyond. Authorization Decisioning orchestrates high throughput, low latency, and data-intensive processing across Decision Management’s intelligent system on behalf of a suite of market-facing products.

This position is responsible for working directly with the programs supporting those market-facing products to develop a shared roadmap and corresponding backlog written in development-ready detail.

• Forming deep and meaningful relationships with our partners in product to better understand the business drivers and ensure we are technologically-aligned to its demands.

• Constantly learning and collaborating across Decision Management and Mastercard Technology to fully understand the functionality, architecture, dependencies, and runtime properties of its systems and its dependencies. This includes the business requirements and associated use cases, Mastercard customer's experience, Mastercard's back-office systems, the technical stack (application/service architecture), interfaces and associated data flows, dependent applications/services, runtime operations (i.e. trouble management/associated support strategies), and maintenance.

• Works independently and with minimal supervision to translate these relationships and this knowledge into structured and actionable work for a team of Software Engineers.

• Curious and helpful by nature. Likes to understand the whys and hows.

• Technologically savvy. Perhaps a software or data engineer by training. Proficient with data-intensive applications (APIs, Java, Spring, Containers, Microservices, Eventing)

• Organized. Able to take wild, loose, and varied abstract inputs from all over and evolve into iterative concrete action within a tool like JIRA, Rally, or Asana.

Education

• Required undergraduate degree in Computer Science or in a Business or STEM-intensive degree program with related experiences in software engineering and/or data analytics.

• Preferred graduate degree in Computer Science or Business with related experience in fintech and payments.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay Ranges

O'Fallon, Missouri: $130,000 - $221,000 USD
