Robert Half Purchasing Specialist in Odessa, Florida
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Odessa, Florida. In this role, you will play a key part in overseeing procurement activities, ensuring vendor compliance, and maintaining accurate documentation. This is a long-term contract position that requires exceptional organizational skills and strong communication abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and track the progress of purchase request tasks to ensure timely completion.
• Process and manage purchase order requests using SAP B1 or similar systems.
• Communicate with suppliers and vendors to send purchase orders and request multiple quotes.
• Verify that vendors have up-to-date documentation, including contracts, W-9 forms, and other required paperwork.
• Set up new vendors in the system, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to support additional tasks and projects as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and control over procurement-related documentation.
• Analyze vendor quotes to make informed purchasing decisions that align with company needs. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
• Proficiency in SAP B1 or comparable procurement systems.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and processes.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with vendors and internal teams.
• Familiarity with managing purchase orders and requisitions.
• Competence in working with Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Ability to set up and manage vendor accounts within company systems.
