Job Overview:
Position provides Corporate Quality Resource Department primary support for data analysis and visualization in support of excellence in patient outcomes. Primary focus is supporting department executive leadership in areas specific to clinical quality, patient safety events, regulatory and accreditation results, and pay for performance payor metrics data. Role will perform routine environmental scans for new or changing requirements in regulatory required quality programs such as CMS Prospective Payment Inpatient Quality Reporting annual metrics and performance, CMS Patient Safety Structural Measures Program, CMS Age Friendly Care Structural Measures Program, Joint Commission tracer data trends and various public reporting programs linked to clinical outcomes, patient safety and patient experience to meet RWJBH quality, safety and regulatory performance goals.
Requirements
Required
Bachelors degree required in a business, healthcare related, healthcare data, mathematics, analytics, epidemiology, statistics or other associated field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three to five years direct experience within hospital, physician practice, or medical quality office
Experience with data requirements for one or more of the following quality healthcare programs including CMS eCQM, Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting System, Hospital Outpatient Quality Reporting System, Hospital Psychiatric Reporting measures, CMS Stars, US News and World Report Health Data Insights and Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades
Preferred
Prior experience with Tableau, Vizients Clinical Database, and Access report writing preferred
Master s degree highly preferred iness, healthcare related, healthcare data, mathematics, analytics, epidemiology, statistics or other associated field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications and Licenses Required:
NJ RN License preferred or NJ Pharmacist, NJ Occupational Therapist, NJ Physical Therapist required
Essential Job Functions:
Capabilities for data solution utilization including CMS Quality Net national benchmarking, Vizient clinical database, Leapfrog national benchmarking, NHSN, EPIC, Joint Commission resources and other clinical, payor or regulatory data sources
Standardize data collection, validation, and submission processes for CMS value based and pay for performance program
Support clinical quality, infection prevention, and patient safety metrics, accreditation and regulatory trend data, core measures, eCQM and internal quality indicators
Collaborate with IT, analytics, and operational teams to ensure data integrity and alignment with system goals
Generate routine and ad-hoc reports for performance review and accreditation readiness
Serve as a bridge between technical quality analytics teams and clinical quality leaders, translating data into meaningful insights
Benchmarking with peer health systems reveals that dedicated quality data coordination roles are standard practice to sustain regulatory readiness and data-driven improvement
Uses and demonstrates proficiency with available organizational informational systems, such as core clinical systems, dataset/warehouses as well as data manipulation and analysis tools
Ability to use various data solutions such as Access, Excel, EPIC, and Tableau to create reports, interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine patient outcome and or regulatory impact, trends, and opportunities
Develop reports and visuals to support deliverables for executive management and communicate with all levels of stakeholders
Identify and define both process and data improvement opportunities
Ensure compliance with reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis, including quality data requirements and validation of required data reporting for eCQM, IPQRS for hospitals, outpatient and psychiatric measures, education and core measures
Role supports actionable data insight for Leapfrog, CMS Stars, USNWR and system-level quality reporting/improvement
