Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials within the warehouse. This role supports efficient operations by maintaining accurate inventory control, picking parts for shipment, and occasionally operating a sit-down forklift to move materials safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and inspect shipments for accuracy and damage
Stock materials into designated inventory locations accurately and efficiently
Maintain organized, clean, and clearly labeled inventory areas
Pick, stage, and prepare parts and materials for shipping based on work orders and shipping requirements
Accurately record material movements using inventory systems or manual documentation
Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits as required
Occasionally operate a sit-down forklift to move, load, or unload materials (training/certification required)
Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and carts
Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company procedures
Report damaged materials, inventory discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervision
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment
Qualifications & Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred
Prior warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience preferred
Experience operating a sit-down forklift preferred (or willingness to be trained and certified)
Ability to read and interpret work orders, packing slips, and shipping documents
Basic computer skills for inventory tracking
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach throughout the shift
Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift as required
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ocala, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
