Description:
Florida Express Waste & Recycling is looking for a safety-conscious Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Ocala, FL . This position is responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance on our fleet of trucks and equipment, including electrical and hydraulic systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform repairs and preventive maintenance services on diesel trucks and equipment.
Diagnose issues using vehicle computer electronics systems and initiate or assign repairs.
Conduct safety checks and inspections on vehicles and equipment.
Complete required documentation using fleet maintenance software, including parts usage and repair time tracking.
Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday , with occasional Saturdays as needed
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions .
Exposure to moving mechanical parts , fumes , vibration , and moderate noise .
Must follow all basic safety precautions .
Minimum Requirements:
2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with fleet maintenance software and vehicle inspection protocols.
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and outdoors year-round.
