Insight Global Engineering Assistant - 14 in Oakland, California

Job Description

Insight Global is partnering with a large local utility as they grow their Electric Transmission Engineering organization. As an Engineering Assistant, you will provide technical support within the transmission engineering group and will also be responsible for managing engineering drawings and files. Under supervision, you will perform technical work in connection with the design, construction, maintenance, or operation of the Company's facilities or functions related thereto as an assistant to a group of engineers. Typical assignments include, but not limited to:

• chart making

• obtaining and reviewing engineering data

• preparing and reviewing computer input and output

• contract work, RFI and assisting in administrative work associated with the technical office activities.

  • assisting with scheduling

  • communicating with multiple different cross-functional groups via phone, email, in-person

Skills and Requirements

Associate degree in Engineering or its equivalent in technical education and experience

Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and team player

Strong attention to detail

Meticulous recordkeeping of items to check for in drawing packages

Strong oral and written communication skills 3 years of clerical, office management or administrative support experience

Advanced and demonstrated proficiency with business software products (Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, Adobe Acrobat, Clarity, Documentum, etc.)

Ability to understand written technical standards and to communicate readily with others, both orally and in writing

Ability to prepare complex forms, reports, records and reference data, including statistical records and computations required for reports and audits

Excellent work ethics
