Oakfield-Alabama Central School District, a small rural district in Western New York, is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Teacher to serve our Middle/High School Technology and Agriculture program for the remainder of the current school year.
Position Overview:
The successful candidate will provide instruction to students in grades 6-12 in technology and agriculture-related courses. Oakfield-Alabama prides itself on strong community connections, hands-on learning opportunities, and a supportive school environment.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction aligned with NYS Learning Standards
Teach middle and high school courses in technology and/or agriculture
Develop and implement lesson plans and assessments
Maintain a safe and organized classroom/shop/lab environment
Foster positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners
Utilize instructional technology and equipment appropriately
Participate in faculty meetings and collaborate with colleagues
Qualifications:
Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Technology Education, Agriculture, or related area preferred
Candidates working toward certification or with relevant industry experience are encouraged to apply
Strong classroom management skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students in a small-school setting
Commitment to hands-on, experiential learning
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience, per district substitute rate
Position will run through the end of the current school year
