Job Title: Powder Coater

Job Description

Join our team as an experienced Powder Coat Painter for our 1st shift crew. You'll play a crucial role in preparing, hanging, and applying powder coating to a diverse range of metal parts, ensuring high-quality, durable finishes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform surface preparation by cleaning, degreasing, sandblasting, and masking metal parts to ensure proper powder adhesion.

  • Operate manual electrostatic spray guns to apply powder coatings evenly and accurately to specifications.

  • Manage batch production and color changes by hanging and un-racking parts on the conveyor line.

  • Conduct visual quality inspections before and after curing to identify defects such as runs, sags, and thin spots.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of spray guns, booths, and ovens.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean 5S work area.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in industrial powder coating or manufacturing preferred.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Powder Coating experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Physical stamina to stand and work in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean machine shop, operating in a non-climate-controlled setting. Employees are required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will work four 10-hour shifts, either Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or Sunday through Wednesday from 9:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Ridge, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
