?Job Description

The Payroll and Accounting Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and supporting accounting functions. This role manages payroll updates, employee record maintenance, reimbursements, garnishments, deductions, attendance tracking, and employment verifications while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The position also processes accounts payable and receivable, prepares government invoices, performs reconciliations, maintains accounting entries, and supports periodic financial reporting. Additionally, the Payroll and Accounting Specialist maintains organized financial records, generates reports, provides administrative support, and utilizes financial systems to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

  • Starting Pay $25/Hour

  • Health and Welfare benefit $5.55/hour. (H&W is used to pay for medical premiums)

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm and as needed. 

Duties/Responsibilities

Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in PayNorthwest payroll system.

Collects, review and issue reimbursement requests for employee authorized work-related expenses.

Provide and collects documentation pertaining to payroll and accounting.

Assist payroll, the processing, submitting and documenting of each payroll with accuracy and in a timely manner.

Updates employee records, new hires, terminations, status changes, wage information and department transfers.

Track and process request forms and employee attendance.

Assists with the management of insurance plans and 401k contributions.

Process garnishments, employee deductions, employment verifications, draws and direct deposits.

Submit and runs various reports as well as recurring reports.

Assist with updating and adjusting for any changes in policies and procedures.

Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning, data entry, generating reports and maintaining file systems. 

Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll accurately and on schedule

Perform monthly reconciliations and maintain accounting entries under direction of supervisor

Submit government invoices and track payment status under direction of supervisor

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as assigned.

Maintain organized financial records and documentation in compliance with Ability One and Audit requirements.
