School Social Worker (PEL – SSW Endorsed)
Location: Oak Forest
Rate: $45/hr
Schedule: 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Lunch: 30-minute unpaid, duty-free
Planning Time: 200 minutes/week (paid)
Grade Levels Served: Pre-K through 12th
Caseload: 30 students
Support Team: Two full-time Social Workers + building BCBA
Job Summary
The School Social Worker plays a key role on the multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development and implementation of IHPs and IEPs for students requiring social-emotional and behavioral support. This position is essential to fostering student well-being, supporting behavioral growth, and collaborating with families and staff to ensure students receive appropriate interventions.
This posting is only considering candidates with prior experience supporting students with autism and high support needs. Previous school experience is required.
Responsibilities
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IHP/IEP development
Provide direct social-emotional services, including individual and group interventions
Support students with autism and significant support needs through evidence-based strategies
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families
Assist with behavioral planning and coordination with the building BCBA
Maintain accurate documentation in alignment with district, state, and federal guidelines
Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation support, and referrals as needed
Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment
Minimum Requirements
Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement
MSW or LCSW may be required per district/state guidelines
Prior school-based experience (required)
Experience with autism and high support needs (required)
Current CPR certification (if applicable)
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
Current health certificate as required by contract/state
Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
