Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our building and plant equipment. You will work alongside the Manager to establish priorities and support the production team with setups and changeovers. Your role will involve executing a preventative maintenance schedule using the Fiix CMMS, conducting repairs, and minimizing downtime to keep operations agile and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production team with setups and changeovers, supporting operations as needed.

  • Execute a preventative maintenance schedule for machines and facilities equipment utilizing the Fiix CMMS.

  • Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize production interference and maximize uptime.

  • Utilize preventative maintenance techniques to detect future malfunctions and diagnose issues.

  • Install new or repaired parts according to specifications and blueprints.

  • Maintain records of issues and completed maintenance on machines using the CMMS.

  • Respond quickly to production line calls, resolving issues promptly and communicating progress to managers/supervisors.

  • Perform skilled assembly, repairs, and maintenance operations using hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, and welding equipment.

  • Follow food safety and quality production standards according to GMP, CFR, OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations.

  • Comply with all safety and quality regulations, reporting issues immediately to supervisor.

  • Report food safety problems to supervisor or SQF Practitioner upon observation of known or potential issues.

Essential Skills

  • Troubleshooting skills in electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and repair.

  • Knowledge of GMP and conveyor maintenance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience, ideally in a GMP environment (but not required).

  • Proficiency in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Creek, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.50/hr.
