Clarios EHS Intern in Nuevo León, Mexico

The Role

As an EHS Intern supporting the Environmental, Health & Safety team, you will help ensure safe, compliant, and well‑coordinated operations across the facility. You will interact directly with contractors to validate requirements, support the follow‑up of key safety and environmental projects, and help craft internal communications that strengthen the plant’s safety culture. Your work will contribute to consistent compliance, improved contractor management, and clearer visibility of EHS initiatives.

What You’ll Do (Impact Areas)

  • Coordinate with contractors to validate safety permits, required documentation, and regulatory/compliance prerequisites before entering the facility.

  • Track and follow up on ongoing EHS projects (environmental initiatives, safety improvements, inspections follow‑ups, KPIs, corrective actions).

  • Prepare, draft, and distribute internal EHS communications, including safety alerts, campaign materials, monthly updates, and relevant announcements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and digital records in Excel and internal platforms (SharePoint, trackers, dashboards).

  • Support the preparation and execution of safety initiatives such as audits, inspections, risk assessments, and improvement activities.

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and external partners to gather information needed for compliance and reporting.

  • Timely and accurate validation of contractor documentation, ensuring full compliance prior to work execution.

  • Updated and well‑organized project trackers, with clear visibility of status, risks, and next steps.

  • Consistent, on‑time delivery of internal EHS communications that improve awareness and reinforce safety behaviors.

  • Positive feedback from the EHS team and contractors due to clear coordination and documentation accuracy.

  • Support that enables smoother audits, improved preparedness, and stronger adherence to EHS standards.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

Applicable Backgrounds (students):

  • Industrial Engineering or related fields.

Preferred Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced English.

  • Strong Excel skills for organizing data, trackers, and dashboards.

  • Interest in environmental, health, and safety topics (training will be provided).

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (contractors, operations, maintenance).

  • Clear communication and good writing skills for internal communications.

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to learn the operational and regulatory side of EHS.
