Amazon is seeking an Area Manager for the outbound operations at our Nova Santa Rita/RS Distribution Center. This role will focus on Team Safety, Operational Quality, Team Management, delivering the best customer experience, and exceeding productivity targets.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Implement and strengthen safety culture during shifts, ensuring the team works safely and risks are eliminated
Review shift production forecasts and allocate resources to meet targets
Monitor production and productivity metrics to quickly correct deviations
Maintain routines to develop team knowledge and skills, address problems, and provide employees with a safe, fun, and high-performance environment
Key job responsibilities
• Ensure safety throughout shifts by implementing preventive measures to avoid accidents. When incidents occur, conduct thorough investigations and propose specific corrective actions.
• Deliver daily quality metrics by developing innovative and simplified processes that enable your team to consistently meet performance targets.
• Drive daily productivity and capacity targets by removing operational barriers and optimizing headcount allocation.
• Develop and upskill your team following the "Raise the Bar" leadership principle.
• Execute improvement projects to completion with measurable results.
A day in the life
The outbound operations area is responsible for picking, packing, and shipping customer orders.
As an Area Manager, your goal will be to ensure resources are in place for these activities to be completed effectively. This means ensuring:
Team members are in the correct positions
Operational routines are followed
Productivity targets are met
Training is up-to-date
Problems are resolved quickly and permanently
When metrics fall below target, you will be responsible for investigating to find the root cause and implementing corrective actions.
This role requires schedule flexibility, especially during peak demand periods.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics
Work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Experience with performance metrics and process improvement and Lean techniques
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
Intermediate English (capable of writing emails and reading operational procedures)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques
Speak, write, and read fluently in English
