Chenango County Caseworker in Norwich, New York
This is a position in the Chenango County Department of Social Services responsible for providing professional case management services to clients and their families in order to assist them in coping with and resolving economic, emotional, social and environmental problems.Qualifications: The work requires the exercise of sound judgment in assessing the safety of and risk to clients and/or their families, identifying problem areas and developing and implementing an appropriate service plan. Incumbents must be able to work in stressful situations and intervene effectively in a crisis situation. A significant amount of travel using the employee’s personal vehicle and the ability to be available for overtime and on-call work is required to fulfill the duties of this position. Possession of a Bachelor's Degree is required.This title has been approved without the need to take an examination through the HELP Program of the NYS Department of Civil Service. Candidates appointed permanently to this title will NOT need to take an exam and will remain in their position even when the HELP Program ends.
Minimum Salary: 26.96 Maximum Salary: 26.96 Salary Unit: Hourly
