Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Radiology Aide provides essential support to the Radiology Department, ensuring efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including: assisting Radiologists, Technologists and RN's with procedure preparation, maintaining clean and well-stocked work areas, managing telephone communications, assisting with patient positioning, transport and utilizing computer systems for patient information and order management. The Radiology Aide is a key member of the team, contributing to a safe and effective environment for patients and staff while adhering to all applicable policies and procedures.
Prepares trays and all supplies for various procedures in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Retrieves and hands supplies needed during procedures.
Obtains needed supplies for procedures performed outside of the department; brings required equipment to patient areas.
Performs routine patient care activities as directed in accordance with established procedures.
Assists patients in getting ready for procedures
Escorts patients to their bay; coordinates the preparation of pre-procedure paperwork
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Job Requirements
High School Graduate or GED
One year of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Basic Life Support - CPR
Fire Safety within 90 Days
Preferred:
- Medical Assistant Course
