Union Station Restaurant Host in Northampton, Massachusetts
NORTHAMPTON Host Full time or Part time Located in downtown Northampton, Union Station is a historic renovated train station and locally renowned hot spot in the Valley, with a high volume of diverse clientele. We are seeking an extroverted professional to join our hospitality team as a host! This opening is for candidates with previous hosting, or similar experience. This position is for our upscale steakhouse The Notch 8 Grille. Evening and weekend availability is required. The host is responsible for coordinating the flow of service using reservation software with an awareness of timing, as well as equal distribution of tables among servers. The host is the first impression guests receive upon visiting, and must conduct themselves with a genuinely positive regard for guests and astute sense of professionalism at all times. The ideal candidate for this position will be: Experienced with host duties in a fine dining atmosphere An exceptional communicator Professional & cordial Thrives within a socially saturated environment Exceptionally organized Able to work independently to ensure Union Station policies are met while guiding the guest experience Demonstrates an understanding of hospitality, anticipation of guest needs, & providing guest service Self aware and able to work within a team Teachable and adaptable when receiving new information Passionate about providing exceptional guest service at all times in a high volume setting- maintaining speed, attention to detail, and an affable demeanor at a prompt pace We offer flexible time off and scheduling, however weekend and holiday availability is required.
