How you’ll make an impact in this role
Ascension St. Vincent is looking for an Internal Medicine Physician to serve the Jennings County community.
Position Highlights:
Join practice of 4 physicians and 4 APPs serving adult patients within Jennings County
Schedule is Monday - Friday within the primary care clinic
On-call requirements include 1 in 4 weekend shifts at Ascension St. Vincent Jennings Critical Access Hospital, which is comprised of 18 beds and 4 swing beds
Rounding is once every 24 hour period and physician must be available by phone for the remainder of the shift
Responsibilities:
Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinatedischarge planning with case management.
Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
