Job Title: Insulator – Marine & Industrial Projects
About the Role
We are seeking skilled and motivated Insulators to join our team, specializing in mechanical and wall insulation for major military shipbuilding projects . This is an exciting opportunity to work on high‑profile contracts, including the Joint Support Ship and the upcoming Polar Icebreaker .

Key Responsibilities
Install, remove, and repair thermal and acoustical insulation on industrial and marine equipment.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Select and install the appropriate insulation using methods such as pin welding, wiring, banding, and taping .
Measure, cut, and fit insulating materials to precise dimensions.
Install vapor barriers and finish surfaces using metal cladding, canvas, PVC, or cement .
Essential Qualifications
Registered Insulation Apprentice or Journeyman .
Skilled with hand and power tools.
Must meet security requirements— Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen .
Strong English skills (reading, writing, speaking).
Completion of CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) .
Reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in insulation, carpentry, or sheet metal .
Excellent communication skills.
Canadian citizenship strongly preferred due to project requirements.

Work Environment
Based at Seaspan Shipyards (North Vancouver) .
Work alongside a team of approximately 90 tradespeople .
On-site parking available (first-come, first-served).
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday
Start: 5:45 AM
End: 4:00 PM
10-hour shifts (8 hours regular + 2 hours overtime)
Weekend overtime opportunities available.

This is a Permanent position based out of North Vancouver, BC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $46.00/hr.
