Colton RV & Marine RV Technician in NORTH TONAWANDA, New York

  • RV Technicians do a little bit of everything: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, flooring, etc. If you can do any one of these, well teach you the rest! To get started as a new RV tech in our dealership, you dont need specific RV experience, but you do need to be handy, responsible, and professional. A successful RV Technician must be dedicated, have the ability to diagnose and fix problems, and have a focus on quality. Essential Functions: * Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry and appliance maintenance * Ensure that the final work product meets quality standards * Examine and diagnose RV problems * Discuss repairs with shop foreman or RV service advisor * Communicate additional service requests to RV service advisor * Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman * Provide labor time estimates to RV service advisor * Monitor repair time and update RV service advisor regularly * Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on RV care and operation * Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs * Attend company trainings as required * Keep current with factory technical bulletins * Communicate with all departments when more information needed or when problems arise * Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste) ### RequirementsEducation, Experience and Work Requirements: * High School Diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience * RVIA certification preferred but not required * State Inspection License is preferred but not required * Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Ability to diagnose and fix electrical, heating, plumbing, and hydraulic systems * Construction skills to repair water damaged units * Must have own tools appropriate to skill level * Must have a valid Drivers License with clean, insurable, driving record * Certification in trade fields such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, are a plus! * Experience preferred in one of the following categories: * Boat: Exteriors * Boat: Interiors * Carpentry * Cars * Electrical Systems * Fiberglass * High and Low Voltage Systems * HVAC * Hydraulics * Plumbing * Propane Systems * RVs * Welding
