Deli Assistant Manager

Responsibilities:
Supervising, directing, and training department associates
Food production planning and preparation
Ensuring food quality and food safety
Providing excellent customer service
Slice and package deli meats and cheeses for grab and go case
Prepare and package scratch-made salads
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of the Deli
What We’re Looking For:
Knowledge of deli operations and merchandising
A passion for customer service and high-quality food
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Previous experience in a deli or food service environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of local, state, and federal health and labeling regulations, USDA regulations, and OSHA standards
Knowledge and practice of safe knife handling skills, cross-contamination prevention, and proper food preparation and storage
Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Possesses basic math skills for ordering, inventory, pricing and production purposes
Strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day
The ability to lift, stack, and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs
Weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required; flexible hours
Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience working in a deli retail setting required
