Oracle Data Centre Technician in NORTH RYDE, Australia

Job Description

Are you an experienced Data Centre Technician with a background in racking & stacking to deployment & decommissioning – and everything in between? Interested in new challenges and being part of a team working on critical projects? Then we’d like to talk to you!

As an Oracle Data Centre Technician you will be the technical liaison between the technology teams and the Data Centre Environment. You will be able to troubleshoot and solve all but the most complex infrastructure issues. As a skilled troubleshooter across a wide range of Data Centre environments and systems, you understand which issues should be escalated to the appropriate resolver groups. You create and maintain documentation on the technologies you support. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on your own, but also know how to take direction when it is given, paying attention to all details involved. You will be expected to improve current processes and introduce automation with an aim towards simplification.

Responsibilities

Following are some of the responsibilities and requirements of the role:

  • Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment.

  • Review and action incoming and open tickets, prioritising work based on ticket severity.

  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimisation of all production server hardware and software.

  • Provide escalated second-level technical support for complex issues, which may include leading problem management cases and providing management updates.

  • Communicate confidently and clearly with all stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong adherence to processes and act as a process champion.

  • Understand internal customer problems and deliver timely technical solutions.

  • Work on a rotating shift basis, including on-call.

  • Background in Linux.

  • Knowledge of Data Centre Ecosystem (cooling, electrical, networking, and structured cabling).

  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen and either hold NV1 clearance or be eligible to undergo the vetting process.
