Hardware Technical Program Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our cross-functional Engineering team focused on next-generation robotic system design. The TPM will manage software, firmware, and controls development as part of integrated hardware products. The ideal candidate will possess exemplary program and project management skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities, and will have a passion for creating reliable and maintainable systems. The role requires someone open to new challenges, strong at multi-tasking, innovative, creative, self-directed, and a great team player. The candidate should drive continuous process improvement and partner effectively with cross-functional operational and development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead the effective and efficient delivery of Software, Firmware, and Controls as part of a cross-functional Product Development team, collaborating closely with mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems teams.
Interact with Deployment Engineering, Manufacturing, Global Support Services, and other key stakeholders to define and deliver project goals aimed at improving performance, reducing cost, and minimizing installation cycle time.
Partner cross-functionally to support solution development and integration, requiring experience with hardware/software integration.
Triage, prioritize, and execute against incoming requests from the field for product engineering support.
Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure appropriate resources are employed to deliver high-quality results.
Lead partnerships between software, firmware, controls, hardware engineering, product management, and systems engineering to develop and decompose comprehensive functional requirements.
Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at the program level.
Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
Facilitate effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
Develop and drive project schedules.
Drive programs across disciplines including Software, Controls, Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Safety, Regulatory, and HW Test Engineering.
Partner with groups external to the program team to successfully deliver on project goals.
Essential Skills
Technical product or program management experience.
Experience working directly with engineering teams.
Software/hardware development experience.
Technical program management experience working directly with hardware/software engineering teams.
Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
Deep understanding of hardware and software engineering concepts, SDLC, etc.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk and critical path management.
Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams and building sustainable processes.
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to sr leadership.
Work Environment
The position involves working in a dynamic and collaborative engineering environment. The role requires interaction with multiple departments to ensure the successful delivery of integrated hardware and software solutions. The work setting is fast-paced, requiring effective communication and teamwork across various technical disciplines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of North Reading, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $145000.00/hr.
