Levee Way Processing, LLC Slaughterhouse Worker / Meat Processing Technician in North Pole, Alaska
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Slaughterhouse Worker / Meat Processing Technician. Our facility processes a variety of livestock, including beef and swine, as well as goats, sheep, wild game, and exotics such as elk and yak. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in food production and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform humane slaughter and processing of livestock in accordance with industry standards and regulations
Assist with carcass breakdown, trimming, and preparation for further processing
Operate and maintain processing equipment safely and efficiently
Follow all sanitation, safety, and food handling procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Work as part of a team to meet daily production goals
Qualifications:
Prior experience in meat processing or slaughter operations preferred, but not required
Willingness to learn and be trained in all aspects of the job
Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding tasks
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Weekend work as needed
Compensation:
Starting wage: $18.00/hour for entry-level candidates
Higher wages offered based on experience
Additional Information: This position requires working in a physically demanding environment, including exposure to cold temperatures, noise, and the handling of animals and animal products. Candidates must be comfortable working in these conditions.
