Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Technical Writer Assistant to support the Program Documentation and Marketing teams. This person will gain practical experience in developing and editing a variety of documents. This position is part-time and is located onsite in North Logan, UT.

Key Responsibilities:
Researches, writes, formats, and edits documents including reports and presentations
Provides general administrative support
Supports the development of test plans, procedures, and reports
Attends meetings to capture action items and minutes
Supports full-time technical writers and copywriters with approved assignments
Supports proposals as needed
Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled at Utah State University (USU) with at least three (3) semesters remaining in your education
Proficiency in MS Office
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to follow up and close the loop
Ability to be proactive and work effectively with little direct supervision
Ability to work productively alone and in a team
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to understand (or research when needed) technical and engineering concepts, and document them clearly
Ability to assess deadlines, set individual priorities, and maintain flexibility when priorities shift unexpectedly
Must be available to work 15 - 20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in technical writing or a related field
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite
