Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a motivated mid-level Multidisciplinary Systems Engineerto be part of our Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIandT) team. Working closely with the Program Manager and Lead Systems Engineer, the successful candidate will support spacecraft programs beginning with AIandT planning through hardware building and testing. This role is ideal for candidates with a broad technical foundation across multiple engineering disciplines, strong analytical and communication skills, and a desire to contribute to team-based problem-solving in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Supports Program Manager and Lead Systems Engineer in technical management of projects through tracking, risks, requirements, interfaces, configurations, and related tasks
Gathers system-level requirements, evaluates design alternatives, performs systems analysis, and decomposes solutions into actionable engineering tasks
Works closely with technical leads to successfully implement design objectives
Designs AIandT plans to meet program requirements
Determines requirement verification approaches, then flows to specific tests (where applicable)
Plans assembly and test sequences
Incorporates development units into the plan
Schedules and manages facilities, hardware resources, and personnel
Manages and performs activities for the assembly, integration, and testing (AIandT) of space hardware across software, hardware, thermal, structural, optical, electrical, and related domains
Directs/supports assembly of spaceflight article
Prepares test procedures and support hardware
Executes tests, gathers artifacts, generates requirement verification reports
Develops, maintains, and communicates regular program status reports for internal and external customers to monitor and report progress
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
3+ years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree) or 1+ year of relevant experience and a master's degree
Knowledge of system engineering tools and analysis methods
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience leading teams of engineers and technicians
Experience writing and executing test plans and procedures
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
Familiarity with test equipment, MGSE, and EGSE
Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment
Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail while still having a system-level perspective
Ability to work occasional evening and weekend shifts when required for certain testing
Some travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Top Secret security clearance
Experience with Agile methodologies to define requirements and develop systems
Experience with environment test processes (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC, etc.)
Experience with optics system calibration and test
Experience with MBSE tools and processes
H ands on experience with spaceflight article design, fabrication, and testing
