Job Description
The Flooring Solutions Technician 2 cleans, inspects, and prepares flooring preparation equipment—primarily for concrete surfaces—so it is ready for safe and reliable rental use. This role is hands-on and shop-based, focusing on turning equipment efficiently from return to ready status while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Receive flooring preparation equipment returning from rental jobs and perform thorough function tests to confirm proper operation.
Clean and wash equipment in the wash bay, removing dust, debris, and residues from concrete and other flooring materials.
Inspect machines for damage, wear, and missing parts, and identify basic maintenance needs.
Prepare and stage equipment on the ready line so it is organized, presentable, and available for the next rental.
Work on a wide variety of flooring preparation machines and tools, adapting quickly to different equipment types.
Follow established safety procedures and meet multiple safety metrics and performance standards.
Manage daily workload to complete a satisfactory number of equipment turns, with a target of approximately three full turns per day.
Work independently for a significant portion of the day, making sound decisions and prioritizing tasks without constant supervision.
Use basic hand tools and shop equipment as needed to support cleaning, prepping, and minor adjustments.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area within the warehouse and shop.
Essential Skills
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of machines and tools.
Approximately one year of relevant experience in a maintenance shop, general labor, or similar mechanical environment, or completion of a trade school program.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively throughout the workday.
Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and take direction.
Comfort using hand tools and performing basic mechanical tasks.
Reliability in following safety procedures and meeting safety performance expectations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Entry-level candidates with a year of experience or trade school graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience in a maintenance shop or equipment rental environment is beneficial.
Ability to adapt to working on multiple types of flooring preparation machines.
Strong attention to detail when inspecting and testing equipment.
Good communication skills to coordinate with a small team and report equipment issues.

Work Environment
This position is based indoors in a climate-controlled warehouse and shop environment, working closely with a small team of about five people. The schedule runs Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with some overtime available as needed. The role involves frequent hands-on work with a variety of flooring preparation machines and standard hand tools, primarily in the shop rather than in the field. Safety footwear such as steel-toed boots is required, and jeans are acceptable; uniforms are provided by the employer. The work setting emphasizes safety, organization, and productivity while allowing you to work independently for much of the day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Las Vegas, NV.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
