  Minimum Requirements: New York State Teaching Certification in the following areas: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Special Education (grades 9-12), or

  Physical Education.

  Desired Qualifications: Internal Candidates Only

  MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK THE ENTIRE SUMMER SESSION;

  Dates: July 9 (7-hr day for staff only)

  July 13-August 17(RSS/CRSS Classes) No Classes on Friday 7/10, 7/17, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7, 8/14 August 18-August 19 (Regents Exams) August 20 Grading if needed August 21 Grading if needed

  New York State Teaching Certification in the following areas: ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Special Education (grades 9-12), or

  Physical Education.

  Effective or Highly Effective as defined by the District Annual Professional Performance Review;

  Knowledge of the NYS assessments and curriculum & graduation requirements;

  Proven success as a classroom teacher with students with learning challenges;

  Ability to establish a rapport with students with diverse needs;

  Demonstrate flexibility in response to students whose achievement requires alternate strategies;

  Ability to be a creative problem solver to monitor and adjust instructional strategies to ensure course achievement for learners

  Position Summary/Responsibilities: Instruct groups of students to ensure mastery of course expectations and/or using FUEL and alternate methods allowing for credit recovery

  success

  Instruct students in preparation for State Assessments.

  Utilize alternate teaching and engagement strategies to support students exhibiting learning gaps.

  Engage with instructional team in Professional Learning Community to identify what students need to know, assess knowledge/skills, and respond

  using tiered interventions matched to learner needs.

  Maintain grade books, portfolios, evidence of student learning.
