Experience working collaboratively with educational team members, families, and related service providers to create supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.
Knowledge and experience providing speech and language services across a variety of educational settings, including individual, small group, and classroom-based support.
Skilled in conducting speech-language evaluations to identify student strengths and needs in order to inform appropriate interventions and supports.
Experience supporting communication development, social language skills, and access to the curriculum for students with diverse learning needs.
Understanding of evidence-based practices and progress monitoring to guide instruction and therapy.
Commitment to fostering equitable access to learning opportunities and supportive relationships for all students.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
The Speech-Language Pathologist works collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners to support students' communication development and overall success in the educational environment. In alignment with the Greece Central School District's mission to build a culture of high standards, engagement, and supportive relationships through equitable access to resources, opportunities, and partnerships, the Speech-Language Pathologist provides services that promote students' ability to access instruction and fully participate in the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct speech and language evaluations using valid and reliable assessment tools to determine students' communication strengths and needs.
Develop, implement, and monitor speech and language goals and services as outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide individual and/or small group speech-language therapy using evidence-based practices to support communication development.
Support students in developing articulation, language, social communication, and pragmatic skills necessary for academic and social success.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to support student progress and generalization of communication skills across settings.
Monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions based on data and student response to services.
Participate as a member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and multidisciplinary teams to support student planning and decision-making.
Provide consultation and strategies to staff and families to support communication development within the classroom and home environments.
Maintain compliance with NYS regulations and district procedures related to special education services and documentation.
