Are you ready to build a meaningful career in healthcare - right here in the North Country? Elderwood at North Creek is hiring CNA Trainees to join our team and complete a structured, 3-week Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program led by a professional nurse educator.
This is not an online-only course. This is hands-on, in-person learning inside a real clinical environment - where you’ll build confidence, skill, and purpose.

Your Path to Becoming a CNA
Week 1: Classroom & Foundations
Onsite instruction focused on: Resident care fundamentals, Infection control & safety, Communication & professionalism, & Clinical skill development
Week 2: Skills Lab & Practice
Hands-on demonstrations and competency validation under educator supervision.
Week 3: Clinical Experience
Supervised clinical days within Elderwood at North Creek, followed by the NYS CNA Certification Exam (Prometric).
Upon successful completion, you will transition into a Full-Time or Part-Time CNA role at Elderwood at North Creek.

Program Expectations:
To successfully complete the program, trainees must:
Pass the Prometric Reading Assessment (80% or higher)
Achieve 90% or higher on quizzes and final exam
Attend all classroom, lab, and clinical days
Provide required health documentation (MMR, Flu, etc.)
Maintain professionalism and reliability throughout training
Have dependable transportation
Participants must have access to a personal device (laptop, tablet, or smartphone) for supplemental coursework.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do in the CNA Training Program:
Participate in a structured, state-approved Nurse Aide Training Program
Complete classroom instruction, skills lab practice, and supervised clinical experience
Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and compassion throughout training
Prepare for and successfully complete the New York State CNA certification exam
Follow attendance and performance standards required for program completion
Transition into a CNA role within our facility upon certification
Qualifications
CNA Training Program:
Sixteen (16) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent required.
Employment Certificate/Permit required for 16-17 years of age.
No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of property through any current or previous licensing agency.
This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
