Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will diagnose and troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems with machinery and equipment. You will perform basic repairs using knowledge of general maintenance techniques, tools, and skills. Your role includes executing preventative and predictive maintenance functions such as lubricating, aligning, adjusting, and cleaning. You will also perform basic welding for repairing and fabricating mechanical equipment, work on electrical, hydraulic, PLC, combustion, and pneumatic systems, and assist mechanics and operators as needed. Reading and understanding schematics/blueprints is essential, as is monitoring equipment conditions to maximize planned outages.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems with machinery.
Perform basic repairs using general maintenance techniques and tools.
Execute preventative and predictive maintenance functions.
Perform basic welding for repair and fabrication of mechanical equipment.
Assist in electrical, hydraulic, PLC, combustion, and pneumatic systems maintenance.
Read and understand schematics/blueprints.
Monitor equipment condition to maximize use during planned outages.
Essential Skills
Experience in PLC troubleshooting and minor modifications.
Knowledge of motor control and industrial systems.
Experience with 480V, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with ladder logic, modification, and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with minor welding.
Experience in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Work Environment
The work environment is hot, heavy, loud, and dirty, involving metal extruding. Shifts include training on day shifts (typically 7am to 7pm for the first few months) and then moving to 7pm to 7am. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with frequent overtime on Saturdays and Sundays, typically amounting to 50-60 hours per week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
