Insight Global Regional Sales Manager in North Charleston, South Carolina
Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving sales strategy and performance across an assigned multi‑state/multi‑province territory. This role manages and supports the regional technical sales teams and Manufacturer’s Representative (Rep) partners, while providing technical consultation to customers and engineering firms.
The role is highly technical, consultative, and relationship‑driven, with a strong emphasis on territory strategy, rep management, and technical product presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Territory & Sales Management
• Conduct territory market research, analysis, project tracking, and target account identification
• Regularly report territory plans, objectives, and opportunities to the Sales Manager
Manufacturer’s Representative Management
• Select, train, support, and (when required) terminate Manufacturer’s Rep partners
Customer & Technical Engagement
• Conduct customer visits (plant level, corporate offices, engineering firms)
• Deliver technical sales presentations, seminars, and application consultations
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders at multiple business levels
Travel & Industry Engagement
• Travel requirement: 50–60% (in‑territory)
• Attend and support regional trade shows and industry events
• Learn and apply relevant industry safety and design standards, including:
○ API 2000, API 2521
○ NFPA 68, 69, 30, 497
○ ISO 28300, ISO 16852 (and others as applicable)

Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline
(Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered)
• Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience selling technical or engineered products
• Strong presentation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
• Ability to engage customers at technical, operational, and executive levels • Experience in one or more of the following industries:
○ Petrochemical
○ Oil & Gas
○ Cryogenic or refrigerated bulk gas storage
• Regional Sales Management experience across multiple territories
• Experience managing or working with a Manufacturer’s Representative network
