Job Title: Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technician I - 2nd ShiftJob Description

The Manufacturing Technician I plays a crucial role in a fast-paced environment, assisting with the manufacturing of drug products for commercial distribution and clinical trials. This role involves operating manufacturing processing equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and batch records, in compliance with regulatory agencies and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The technician employs acceptable techniques, including PPE gowning, and collaborates with other manufacturing areas as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Follow applicable SOPs and cGMPs to perform assigned duties and tasks.

  • Ensure timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all relevant company training requirements.

  • Assist with applicable manufacturing techniques and technologies per SOPs and cGMPs.

  • Assist with manufacturing technologies and operation of manufacturing and material handling equipment.

  • Document activities in real time on controlled documentation, legibly and in accordance with SOPs and cGMPs.

  • Perform in-process testing, weight checks, component counting, and basic math calculations.

  • Clean rooms, tools, and equipment as necessary.

  • Support other manufacturing areas as required.

  • Work occasional hours outside of scheduled shift based on business needs, which may include weekends.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.

  • 1+ years of GMP and prior pharmaceutical work experience required or certification from an accredited institution.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain complex manufacturing equipment.

  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and basic troubleshooting abilities.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed written instructions.

  • Proficiency in using PPE based on product handling requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in dispensing, compounding, aseptic filling, or visual inspection is highly desirable.

  • Candidates with life sciences or engineering degrees will be considered without manufacturing experience.

  • Experience with general compounding equipment, single-use solution pathway parts, and drug product fillers.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to detect minute defects or discrepancies in product appearance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and certify employees.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and support operations at variable capacities.

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

This is a 100% on-site position. The 2nd Shift operates from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and the 3rd Shift runs from Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of North Charleston, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70720.00/yr.
