Job Title: MIG Welder
Job Description
This role focuses on completing high-quality welding of prefabricated assemblies and fabricating complex components from blueprints in a busy fabrication shop. You will independently set up welding machines, work with a variety of fabrication equipment, and produce precise welds on different materials, including stainless steel, using MIG (GMAW) and flux core (FCAW) processes.
Responsibilities
Complete welding of prefabricated assemblies to meet quality and production standards.
Set up welding machines independently for various processes and material thicknesses.
Fabricate and weld complex assemblies from blueprints with minimal supervision.
Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions, weld locations, and fabrication requirements.
Operate a variety of fabrication equipment, including plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses.
Use GMAW (MIG) and FCAW (flux core) welding processes safely and effectively.
Work with stainless steel and other materials while maintaining consistent weld quality.
Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies to verify accuracy and adherence to specifications.
Maintain a clean, organized weld cell and fabrication area to support safe and efficient operations.
Follow all shop safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
