What You Will Do

  • JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all site infrastructure and utilities. This role provides leadership for facilities engineering, building systems, utilities, and capital projects while ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental requirements. The Facilities Engineering Manager partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and external service providers to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Manager and Factory Management Team to drive a cultural change to maintain continuous improvement efforts beyond process & project activities and to a lean way of working.

  • Maintains Engineering staff by recruiting, training, and developing all team members; communicating job expectations; approving performance reviews; participating in labor grievances; and recommending union labor contract items to be negotiated. Responsible for employee performance evaluation, development and succession plans.

  • Lead and manage the Engineering Team, including automation engineers, controls technicians, and support staff; enforcing quality standards; and improving processes and procedures. Works with production team to ensure production plan is optimized to reduce downtime and waste.

  • Responsible for reviews of existing processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement to ensure the development and execution of the plant's zero loss journey focused on mitigating MBU all types of losses. Evaluating and prioritizing potential improvements based on gains and required effort. Initiate and manage improvement projects based on lean and project management principles.

  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; controlling costs; maximizing use of assets; and initiating corrective actions.

  • Enforces company policies and procedures by providing staff development opportunities; maintaining safety programs; ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; analyzing production efficiency and labor utilization; and ensuring support of the terms of the master union agreement.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Engineering with 10 years of experience in an industrial environment.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Knowledge of:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Experience in tobacco and/or union environment

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.

Skilled in:

  • Planning, organizing, and prioritizing

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem/situation analysis

  • Effective time and task management

  • Multitasking capabilities

Work Environment and Physical Demand

  • Requires moderate physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Reach and grasp objects / hand eye coordination

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Walks, sits, or stands for extended periods.

  • Requires prolonged machine operation including vehicle, computer, and keyboard equipment

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Identify and distinguish color and shades of color

  • Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury

  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions including second-hand smoke and/or vape

  • Risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens

Annual Base Salary Range: $119325.00 - $190920.00

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for annual bonus or incentive compensation.
