Job Title: Machining Supervisor and Programmer | 1st Shift | Canton, OH

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machining Supervisor with programming skills to oversee daily machining operations and supervise CNC machinists. This role is essential in managing tool crib activities and ensuring high-quality machining processes within tight tolerances. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily machining operations and supervise a team of 5-6 CNC machinists.

  • Program CNC machines using G & M code, Mastercam, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.

  • Perform machine setups, teardowns, and occasional hands-on machining as needed.

  • Manage tool crib activities, including tool selection, inventory, maintenance, and optimization.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues, improve processes, and ensure part quality within tight GD&T tolerances.

  • Maintain a wide variety of machining equipment and ensure proper use, repair, and upkeep.

  • Lead, train, and mentor machinists while promoting safety, efficiency, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support job-shop scheduling and workflow.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of experience operating, setting up, and programming CNCs in a job shop environment.

  • Supervisor/management experience in a machine shop for at least 5 years.

  • Experience with a wide variety of machining equipment.

  • CNC programming capabilities using AutoCAD, Mastercam, or SolidWorks.

  • Experience in setup and teardown of machinery, possibly multiple times per shift.

  • Tool crib management experience for 3+ years.

  • Experience working with GD&T, with tolerances tighter than those in aeronautic and medical industries.

  • Proficiency in G & M Code (Machine Control Language).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years as a CNC Programmer with AutoCAD/CAM or SolidWorks.

  • 5+ years as a Machining Supervisor.

  • Well-versed in various machines/brands such as manuals, mills, lathes, and more.

  • Strong skills in communication, supervision, management, and organization.

  • Familiarity with machining, CNC machining, blueprints, conversational programming, Mazak, Mazatrol, mills, CAD, CAM, SAP, operations management, supervision, lean manufacturing, CNC mill, and production planning/scheduling.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
