Actalent Quality Engineer in North Baltimore, Ohio
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to oversee and enhance the quality of our paint systems. The role involves collecting and analyzing defect data, leading cross-functional action plans, and ensuring compliance with various testing specifications.
Responsibilities Include
Support Customer Service QE’s with corrective actions, documentation updates, and process changes.
Review Prime Shop and Topcoat Shop documentation and check sheets.
Lead dirt‑defect review meetings.
Create and maintain documentation for the Prime and Topcoat Paint Shops, including Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Visual Aids, and related materials.
Manage calibration and recertification of all electronic and non‑electronic measuring and testing devices.
Collect and report top defects and trend charts on a bi‑weekly basis.
Review Certification of Authenticity documentation from paint suppliers.
Perform adhesion testing following humidity exposure.
Monitor calibration and maintenance of measuring and testing devices used in the paint shops.
Meet with upper management to present top defects and improvement actions.
Manage inventory, ordering, and stocking of all touch‑up paint (marker and spray).
Complete annual record‑retention activities.
Skills & Qualifications
2+ years of quality engineering experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime when required.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position where you will work closely with various teams to ensure the highest quality standards in our paint systems. The role requires hands-on involvement in both the Prime and Topcoat Paint Shops.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Baltimore, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $45.00/hr.
