Job Summary
The Production Operator MIG Welding & Manufacturing Support is responsible for performing basic MIG welding as well as supporting general manufacturing and assembly operations within a production environment. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational MIG welding experience who are interested in working in a hands-on manufacturing setting and contributing across multiple areas of production.
While MIG welding is an important part of this role, associates are expected to be flexible and assist with additional manufacturing tasks as needed to support production flow, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic MIG welding on mild steel components in accordance with work instructions and quality standards
- Conduct visual inspections of welds and finished parts to ensure quality requirements are met
- Support general assembly and manufacturing tasks, including fitting, fastening, grinding, and material handling
- Operate and monitor production equipment to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing processes
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of welding and production equipment
- Follow all safety procedures, welding standards, and standard operating procedures
- Accurately complete production documentation and logs as required
- Report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervision
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, and productivity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic MIG welding experience (school training or hands-on production experience preferred)
- Ability to pass a basic MIG weld test
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Comfortable performing non-welding tasks as part of a manufacturing team
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and occasional weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, push, or pull materials consistent with manufacturing tasks
- Ability to safely use welding PPE and required safety equipment
